LA Dept. of Veterans Affairs office in Eunice The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs has relocated its office in Eunice to the Northwest Community Center at 501 Samuel Drive. The office is open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. except for State and Federal holidays.

Man, 70, charged with first-degree rape, obscenity

A 70-year-old Melville man has been charged with first-degree rape and two counts of obscenity, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Charged is Lawrence W. Naquin of the 200 block of Church Street. An arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 25 and Naquin was booked into the parish jail on Feb. 1.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers needs help in locating three wanted fugitives. Thomas Joseph Jarona is a 44-year-old white male that is 6 foot 3, weighs 200 pounds and his last known address is on the 1700 block of Magnolia Street in Eunice.

Gov. signs insurance relief bills
