CEO Roundtable program accepting applications

Louisiana Economic Development is now accepting applications for its 2023-24 CEO Roundtables series, the popular, yearlong program that provides a platform for leaders of second-stage companies to share insights and knowledge.

Sunset receives $3M for new water well, treatment plant

The Town of Sunset has been awarded $3.016 million by the Louisiana Department of Health’s Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (DWRLF) Program to construct a new water well and filtering system, as well as make upgrades to an existing well and properly shutdown inoperable facilities.

Bellard presents second State of the Parish program

St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard presented a second State of the Parish program where he outlines progress and plans. The program Tuesday at the parish-owned Delta Grand Theatre in Opelousas was accompanied by a magazine-like report “St. Landry Parish Government Review.

9-parish juvenile facility proposed

The St. Landry Parish Council will be asked to support a resolution to create nine-parish Acadiana Regional Juvenile Justice District. The resolution is scheduled for the Feb. 15 Council meeting.

St. Landry Parish sales tax revenues increase 5.3%

Sales tax collections in St. Landry Parish began the year with a 5.3% increase in January compared to January 2022. The January total for the parish was $8,977,428, up from January 2022’s $8,525,245, a $4452,183 increase. From December 2022, the total monthly increase was $2,189,883.

Taster’s Choice aids free clinic

The 12th annual Taster’s Choice fundraiser for the Eunice Community Health Center is scheduled 6 to 9 p.m. Wedneday at the Mumphrey Center at LSUE Yancy Fontenot, center director, said, “This is very important to keep the doors open and continue to provide assistance to the people in need.
