New Year brings new police chief

Incoming Police Chief Kyle LeBouef says one of his biggest challenges is staffing and that’s because Eunice is behind other police departments in its pay. LeBouef says he has talked to Mayor Scott Fontenot and city council members about the pay issue and there is agreement.

Verna Lavergne Ward passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the age of 86. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Eunice with Reverend Tommy McManus officiating.
