LSUE holds a birthday party for its 55th year

Dr. Stephen Guempel, retired vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at LSUE, was one of the last people to make a comment during the birthday party for LSUE’s 55th year. The party was held in the recently renamed Dr. Anthony Mumphrey Center on the campus. Mumphrey was the first chancellor.

Rain slowed rice harvest

Louisiana rice farmers are certainly having a sense of deja vu as this year’s harvest comes to a close, as they’ve seen consistent, near-daily rainfall that has hampered their operations.

911 attacks remembered

The 21st anniversary of the 911 terrorists attacks was solemnly honored, recognized and remembered during an In Honor and Remembrance ceremony sponsored by the Woodmen Life Chapter 243. VFW Post 8971, American Legion Post 243, and the DAV chapter also hosted the event.
