St. Landry Parish Tourism to launch Allons Manger

Allons Manger! Let’s eat! St. Landry Parish Tourism, the official destination marketing organization for the parish, is launching Allons Manger, a new rewards program that aims to support local restaurants. The passport is free for restaurants to participate and for diners to enjoy.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is among the top 443 colleges and universities in the nation. That’s according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-2023 edition of “Best Colleges.” The annual guidebook was released Monday.

“Frustrating” and “tough” are the two words most used to describe the 2022 rice season. “We started out good — a little wet — at planting, then we had a drought,” said Kane Webb, director of field services, USA Rice Federation. “And you see what we’ve been getting here lately.

By Harlan Kirgan Editor In an about-face, the monument to Confederate soldiers on the St. Landry Parish Courthouse grounds will be moved to Camp Moore Confederate Cemetery and Museum near Kentwood. Camp Moore was the mentioned as the first location for the 102-year-old monument.

The importance of education and the impact of LSU Eunice on the area were presented to the Acadia Parish Tourism Commission at its quarterly meeting on Tuesday. LSU Eunice hosted the commission meeting at the Anthony Mumphrey Center on the campus for a Destination Brunch that including a tour.
