The recent Entergy bill assistance program provided by St. Landry-Evangeline United Way has closed. “Our United Way received a large number of applications from Entergy customers over a short period of time, but has reached its funding capacity,” stated Ginger LeCompte, executive director of the St.

Jail costs are daunting

Housing prisoners is an ongoing cost to St. Landry Parish Government that is eroding finances, said Parish President Jessie Bellard in talking to Eunice Rotarians. “Those inmates are costing us roughly $2 million a year,” he said at the Wednesday meeting.
