Bulb & Blossom meeting set Sept. 6 The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6 with a social and business meeting. The meeting will be held at Jacquelyn Love’s home at 1351 Clanton in Eunice. Members are asked to save plastic milk cartons for an upcoming craft.

West Nile cases surface

The Louisiana Department of Health’s (LDH) Office of Public Health (OPH) has confirmed one human case of the potentially deadly neuroinvasive West Nile disease in Acadiana (Region 4). This is the first reported case in Acadiana since 2018.

The monarch butterfly has been listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature on its Red List of Threatened Species.

St Landry Crime Stoppers seeks tips to Eunice shooting

St. Landry Crime Stoppers is paying up to $2,500 for information about a shooting that wounded a 17-year-old female. At about 5:45 a.m. on Aug. 22, Eunice Police responded to calls from neighbors hearing gunshots in the area of South 12th and Eddie streets.
