A victim of a June 2021 shooting in Opelousas read a press release on October 2021 and identified one of the shooters, which led to an arrest, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

Inmates add a felony charge after jail fight

Six inmates in the Eunice City Jail added a felony charge to their troubles after a jail fight on Aug. 17. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a person arrested last week was jumped in the jail. The suspected attackers were arrested on Aug.. 24 “Apparently he is not well liked” he said.
