School Board asked to OK enrollment projection

By Harlan Kirgan Editor The St. Landry Parish School Board will be asked to approve a five-year student population projection report at today’s meeting.

Arrest made in Lewis St. shooting

An 18-year-old Eunice man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in the 700 block of Lewis Street on Aug. 23. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot identified the man as Roy Guillory Jr., of the 100 block of Townhome Drive. The shooting occurred at about 11 a.m.

Police: Gas thefts total nearly $60K

A Basile man is accused of stealing nearly $60,000 worth of gasoline since March. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot declined to name the victim of the theft. Charged on Aug. 25 was Nicholas Lejeune, 40, of the 3200 block of Stagg Avenue, Basile. He was originally charged with theft over $25,000.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church in Lafayette for Shirley Aguillard Cosper, 86, who passed away Friday afternoon, August 26, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
