Perchville Road vehicle burglary suspects sought

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating several vehicle burglaries in the Perchville Road area just south of Eunice. On June 3 during the early morning hours, two suspects entered several vehicles seeking to steal property from within.

The area is about to get busy with construction projects funded in the legislative session that ended June 6. “It was a long and interesting session. It wasn’t a real contentious one, which was nice just to really focus on getting some things for our area,” State Rep. Phillip DeVillier said.

Miller tells airport history

Drew Miller has served as manager for the Eunice Airport for the past 38 years and on Wednesday he spoke about the airport’s history at the Eunice Rotary Club. Miller is a 1967 Eunice High School graduate, attended LSUE, and a graduate of Louisiana Tech where he earned a business marketing degree.

‘Blue lights were everywhere’

Eight people were arrested including an unlucky escapee from the Evangeline Parish Jail who was caught in the second major crime patrol in Eunice conducted from about 5 p.m. to midnight Wednesday. “Blue lights were everywhere last night,” Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
