It is with great sadness that the family of Lillie Mae Toussaint Dupre announces her passing on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at her residence in Eunice. She was 85. A celebration of life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice.

Billy West passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the age of 44. No Services have been planned at this time. Billy is survived by three brothers, Joseph G. West, Jr., Nathan D. West, Shawn S. West. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Gary West and Christine Marcantel West.

Irby Joseph Olivier passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the age of 86. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Pastor Chris Frye and Pastor Woody Gunnels officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford Cemetery in Basile.

EDWIN WASHINGTON EDWARDS

Louisiana’s 50th governor, Edwin Washington Edwards, was born on Aug. 7, 1927, and passed on July 12, 2021. He was 93 years old. Edwards was born in the small community of Johnson seven miles outside Marksville in Avoyelles Parish.

Carol Blanchard Fontenot passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the age of 63. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice. Carol is survived by her husband, Russell G. Fontenot, Sr.; one son, Russell G.
