The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. March 19 Brycelyn Ray Anderson, 20, 500 block of S. Mallet Street, Eunice. Careless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of Schedule I CDS (2 counts).

2 drivers killed in 3-vehicle crash on I-10 in Acadia Parish

A three-vehicle fatality crash on Interstate 10 near mile marker 69, east of Jennings claimed the life of 28-year-old Erik Antonio Munos of Lafayette and 60-year-old Johnny Gene Carson of Spring, Texas, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.

St. Landry Parish man killed in single-vehicle crash

A single-vehicle crash at about 8 p.m. Thursday on La. 103 near Hebert Ortego Road in St. Landry Parish took the life of 20-year-old Caleb Alexander Doucet of Washington, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.

Eunice Police Arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. March 18 Amanda Marie Lavergne, 38, 700 block of South 12th Street, Eunice. Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule I CDS, less than 2 grams. Douglas Pitre, 36, 600 block of Dufilho Road, Opelousas. Bench warrant.

Church Point man faces negligent homicide charge in toddler’s drowning

A 30-year-old Church Point faces a negligent homicide charged after his 9-month-old child drowned in the bathtub, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

New DA Pitre announces sentencing of murderer

In his first major announcement at St. Landry Parish district attorney, Chad Pitre announced that murderer Phillip Wayne DeWoody, 54, was sentenced Tuesday to three life sentences.

2 indicted on multiple counts of attempted second-degree murder

An Opelousas man and a Church Point teenager were each indicted on six counts of attempted second-degree murder following a Feb. 22 shooting on Marie Street in Church Point.
