Unrestrained driver killed in St. Landry Parish crash

A single-vehicle fatality crash on La. 749 at Grace Street at 3:30 p.m. Friday ultimately took the life of 20-year-old Jason Guillory of Washington, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. The preliminary investigation revealed Guillory was traveling south on La.

Crime Stoppers requests tips about stolen 18-wheelers

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating two 18-wheeler thefts that occurred in the 100 block of Frontage Road, near Duson on Aug 10 and 14. On Aug. 10, multiple suspects stole a 2014 Peterbuilt Freightliner, black in color with “Dailey Trucks, LLC” on the cab.

Deputies find pot, pistol and fake dough

A suspicious vehicle has led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and counterfeit money at 12:08 a.m. Aug. 13, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson. Deputies located a suspicious vehicle on Ella Louis Drive just north of Crowley. The vehicle was occupied by three males.
