‘Goldmouth’ Johnson arrested on 5 attempted second-degree murder charges

A man who has found himself a target of shootings has been charged with five counts of attempted second-degree murder in a May 3 shooting. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Dustin “Goldmouth” Johnson, 33, of East Ardoin Street, Eunice, as arrested Thursday.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. May 6 Lacanda Nicole Mascorro (Ortego), 31, 800 block of South Beulah, Eunice. Theft value less than $1,000, criminal trespass. Teri Thibodeaux, 32, 1300 block of West Vine, Eunice. Contempt of court.

Nearly routine shootings have returned to some areas of Eunice in what may be a case of competing gangs. Police Chief Randy Fontenot said arrests are pending as investigations continue into the shootings.

Tips sought in Iota High School burglary

The Iota Police Department is investigating a burglary at Iota High School that occurred at about at 2:30 a.m. March 10. Two suspects were captured on video surveillance entering through a window and walking throughout the school.
