Opelousas man arrested on second-degree murder charge

A 25-year-old Opelousas man has been arrested on a second-degree murder charge in connection with a shooting in Melville, according to a news release from Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. But his court date was delayed because the suspect had to undergo surgery for a previous gunshot wound.

Crowley Police identify shooting suspect

Crowley Police are asking the public’s help in locating the suspect in a shooting here last Friday that left two people injured. Police Chief Jimmy Broussard said police are looking for Sven Rochon, 26, in connection with the incident.
