Bayou Chicot mobile home fire claims one

State Fire Marshal deputies continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a mobile home fire that claimed the life of the sole occupant. Just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the Ward 5 Fire Protection District responded to a mobile home fire in the 5500 block of St.

Church Point woman accused of shooting man with shotgun

A Church Point woman was arrested following an early morning shooting on Wednesday. Denise Lyons, 44, was arrested by Church Point Police on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Robbery arrest

From Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot Dalvin Wilson: second-degree robbery. The victim obtained a ride in a vehicle in which Wilson was a passenger. The victim was discussing a handgun he had purchased that day and showing it to the passengers in the vehicle.

Drug bust

From Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot Horatio Roussel: Eunice Police patrol officers conducted a traffic stop for traffic violations. The driver could not provide a valid driver’s license and a warrant check revealed that the driver was wanted by another agency.
