The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. February 8 - 10 Roy Wendell Johnson, 24, 900 block of Thomas Avenue, Opelousas. Theft (2 counts). Arrested by Opelousas Police. Joseph Hayburn Hebert IV, 24, 700 block of Miller Street, Eunice.

Eunice Police Arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. February 10 Mariah Danielle Levier, 28, 100 block of Shanny Drive, Evangeline. Careless operation, no driver’s license, possession of synthetic cannabinoid, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jeffrey T. Gotte, 47, 100 block of Shanny Drive, Evangeline.

Concealed carry class planned

The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is holding a one-day concealed carry class at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 29 at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice. The course is $100 dollars and $80 for an additional spouse.

The following are arrests by Eunice Poilce. February 7 Robert Paul Fontenot, 37, 1500 block of Williams and 700 block of East Peach, Eunice. Stop sign violation, registration of bicycle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana 14 grams or less.

Port Barre man sentenced for carjacking, firearm, kidnapping

Jon Michael Mauldwin, 28, was sentenced today to 241 months in prison and five years of supervised release for a federal carjacking and related firearms charge stemming from the kidnapping of a Port Barre man, announced David C. Joseph, United States Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana.

Potent ‘gray death’ drug seized

A toxic blend of heroin, fentanyl and fentanyl analogs called “gray death” was discovered during a traffic stop by Eunice City Marshal Deputy Marcus Bergeron on Wednesday, according to City Marshal Terry Darbonne. The stop was made about 2 p.m.
