The following are arrests by Eunice Poilce. February 7 Robert Paul Fontenot, 37, 1500 block of Williams and 700 block of East Peach, Eunice. Stop sign violation, registration of bicycle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana 14 grams or less.

Port Barre man sentenced for carjacking, firearm, kidnapping

Jon Michael Mauldwin, 28, was sentenced today to 241 months in prison and five years of supervised release for a federal carjacking and related firearms charge stemming from the kidnapping of a Port Barre man, announced David C. Joseph, United States Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana.

Potent ‘gray death’ drug seized

A toxic blend of heroin, fentanyl and fentanyl analogs called “gray death” was discovered during a traffic stop by Eunice City Marshal Deputy Marcus Bergeron on Wednesday, according to City Marshal Terry Darbonne. The stop was made about 2 p.m.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. February 6 Shannon Nicole Ortego, 40, Homeless, Washington. Bench warrant, off bond. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Ledaydrick Kerchon Ferguson, 27, 700 block of Foster Street, Opelousas.
