The following are arrests by Eunice Police. January 30 Talonda Lyons, 46, 1100 block of West Oak Street, Eunice. Simple battery. Holly Reed Young, 42, 1900 block of Aymond Street, Eunice. Theft less than $1,000. Hailey Nicole Lowery, 24, 400 block of Ulysse Street, Eunice. Probation violation.

Informaton sought about attempted burglary in Mowata

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted burglary at the Mowata Store, 30283 Crowley-Eunice Highway, at about 2:40 a.m. Jan. 17. According to a news release from Sheriff K.P.

Sheriff: Smash and grab bandits captured

Three people are charged in connection with two smash-and-grab burglaries in Evangeline Parish that happened Sunday, according to a news release from Sheriff Eddie Soileau.

A state of laziness? I don’t think so

I was hoping we weren’t going to make the list but, deep down, I knew better. The votes have been counted and yes, my adopted home of Kentucky is one of the laziest states in America. (It also happens to be the eighth most obese state in the country.
