Triad workshop set in Port Barre

A Triad workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Hall located at 417 Saizan Ave Port Barre. Triad is an agreement between the National Sheriff’s Association, International Association of Chief’s of Police and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Illegal alien arrested near Church Point is sentenced for immigration violations

A 49-year old Mexican National, who was formerly on ICE’s Most Wanted list, has been sentenced to serve time in federal prison for immigration violations, accordint to a news release from U.S. Attorney David Joseph. Jose Melchor Martinez, of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, pleaded guilty on Jan.

Kops & Kids camp planned

The next girls only Kops & Kids hunting/fishing and camping adventure is scheduled for June 22 to 23, according to St Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. The camp is located in St. Landry Parish with sleeping accommodations and are chaperoned by full time law enforcement officers.
