Chief: Pulling on door handles escalagtes to high-speed chase, wreck, arrest

A Lafayette man faces several charges after pulling vehicle door handles escalated to a high-speed chase and a crash in Eunice Monday morning. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said police were called at 7:15 a.m. about an attempted burglary at Walmart.

Sheriff: 2 are suspects to multiple burglaries

A couple of felons face multiple charges in connection with burglaries, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson. Gibson identified the suspects as Christopher Byerley, 38, of Broussard and April Viguerie, 37, of Erath.

MPD arrests Markeith Guillory following Saturday shooting

The Mamou Police Department has arrested one individual following a shooting that occurred early in the morning on Saturday, August 11, 2018. The incident was first reported at around 1:18 a.m. when a call was made from 513 Ash St. in Mamou.
