The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Aug. 29 Sydney Dayshawn Ben, 21, 700 block of Richard Street, Eunice. Theft less than $1,000. Jeffrey Cormier, 43, 100 block of Mill Street, Eunice. Contempt of court. Destiny Janae Jordan, 17, 3100 block of U.S. 190, Elton.

Man dies in accident on La. 167

MAURICE – Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality on LA Hwy 167 at Placide Road in Vermilion Parish. The crash took the life of 39-year-old Timothy L. Sykes of Lafayette.

Aryan Circle Gang members plead guilty in Turkey Creek murder case

Several Aryan Circle Gang members, who were involved in a 2016 Turkey Creek murder, have pleaded guilty to accessory-after-the-fact, racketeering murder and multiple other charges.

A segment of the recent meeting of the Basile mayor and town council focused on a request by Chief of Police Allen Ivory, Jr. to have Sgt. Van Comeaux terminated from the town’s police force.

Fugitive sought in Acadia Parish

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies need help to locate Billy Joe Hanks. Hanks is described as a white male, 44 years of age, 6’1” tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and his last known address is 206 Blue Bonnet Dr., Crowley.

Early morning shooting wounds 2

Two people were wounded in a shooting that occurred about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunrise Apartments on South Beulah, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. One person was shot in the stomach and was transferred from Acadian Medical Center to Lafayette General.
