Pine Prairie's police department and mayor offer tips to combat crime following recent car thefts

Pine Prairie’s Police department and mayor are offering tips to the public on how to keep your belongings safe following an incident of car theft that occurred early Saturday morning in the Evangeline Parish community.

More charges pending in shooting

Police Chief Jimmy Broussard said additional charges could be filed in the shooting death of a woman here last Friday. Heather Mouton, 37, was allegedly shot and killed by her estranged husband, Demetric Savoy, just after midnight on May 25, according to Broussard.
