Rayne man killed in Acadia Parish crash

A two-vehicle crash on La. 35 north of La. 365 near Branch killed Joseph Goodwin, 54, of Rayne shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. The preliminary investigation revealed Goodwin was traveling south on La. 35 in a 2014 Dodge Ram truck.

21-year-old succumbs to injuries weeks after accident

GUEYDAN - A second victim has died as the result of a recent single-vehicle crash near Mermentau in Acadia Parish. Cade Sonnier, 21, of Gueydan, succumbed to his injuries on Friday, June 1. Sonnier was one of seven passengers in the 2009 Ford F-250 that crashed at about 6:30 a.m.
