As summer approaches it is important to “look before you lock” when you have children and pets inside the car. The temperature inside of a car can rise 20 degrees in as little as 10 minutes and 50 degrees in one hour.

Tips sought about vehicle burglaries

In Louisiana, our vehicles are reviewed as an extension of our home in many ways. Each time we leave our home, we lock the door and we need to also do the same for our vehicles. Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating multiple vehicle burglaries which occurred between May 16 to 19.

2 Opelousas teens arrested again for cruelty and theft of horses

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry Livestock Brand Commission arrested two juveniles for a second time in connection with cruelty and theft of two horses. The horses, valued at $5,000 each, were reportedly stolen in the 100 block of Grapevine Road near Opelousas.

Eunice Police warn of scam calls

There have been some complaints about scamming phone calls between of 3 and 4 a.m. targeting senior citizens and elderly citizens in Eunice, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot.
