St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 23 Mark Todd Fontenot, 47, 300 block of 7th Avenue, Krotz Springs. Monetary instrument abuse; theft; four bench warrants. Arrested by Port Barre Police. Patrick Michael Depa, 37, 7100 block of Highway 31, Opelousas.

2 dead, one wounded in three shootings in Evangeline Parish

It was a busy weekend for law enforcement officers in Evangeline Parish after three separate shooting incidents occurred leaving two individuals dead and one hospitalized.

Police: Razor blade biting woman charged

A 29-year-old Eunice woman is charged with criminal mischief and theft after police say she stole a razor blade and put it into her food at a fast food restaurant.

Grass fire off La. 13

Shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, Eunice firefighters responded to a grass fire along La. 13 south of Eunice. Fire District 4 Capt. Blake Smith, along with firefighters Chase Brown and Thomas Vail put out the fire within minutes.
