Eunice woman killed in crash

A three-vehicle crash on La. 10 at about 6 p.m. Friday killed Mary Chapman, 73, of Eunice, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2008 Hyundai Sonata operated by 74-year-old Stanley Nepveaux of Crowley was traveling west on La. 10.

Former Estherwood police chief faces drug, other charges

Former Estherwood police chief James Burnett, 69, has been arrested on drug and other charges after deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 509 Jefferson Stt. in Estherwood last week. According to a news release from Sheriff K.P.

Marshal says man said he had pot, search found more

Deputies with the Eunice City Marshal’s Office deputies arrested an Elton man on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop near Glendale Elementary on Thursday, according to Marshal Terry Darbonne.
