St. Landry Crime Stoppers seeks tips to home burglaries

St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking for leads to solve a rash of home burglaries. On March 12, deputies responded to seven home burglaries in the south end of the parish. The suspects either kicked in the doors or broke windows to gain entry.

Grave situation investigated at rural Eunice cemetery

An investigation is under way on reports of a moved grave and missing tombstone at cemetery south of Eunice on the old Crowley highway. The Acadia Parish Sheriff, Louisiana Cemetery Board and State Police are involved in the investigation. Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P.

Stolen vehicle, counterfeit money recovered

Chief of Police Carroll J. Stelly reports that, on March 16, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the Rayne Police Department and requested assistance in locating a stolen 2007 white Hummer H3.

Troopers arrest Crowley man for child pornography

A Crowley man was arrested as the result of an investigation into child pornography, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. In November 2017, Louisiana State Police Detectives initiated an investigation into the possession of child pornography in Acadia Parish.

Crime Stoppers of Acadia seeks fugitive

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives need help in locating Cedric Tyrone Stephenson. Stephenson is described as a black male, 35 years of age, being 5’11” in height, weighing 330 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and his last known address is 1903 Veterans Memorial Drive in Abbeville.
