VPPD search for armed robbery suspect

On Friday, Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reported that his department is in search of an armed robbery suspect, who has been identified as 28-year-old Johnathan Hakeem Williams. In a release from the Chief it states that “on April 5, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m.

APSO warns of phone scam

Over the past two days, the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office has received complaints from citizens regarding a scam. This scam comes in the form of a phone call which the victim is advised that his grandchild has been injured and is in the hospital.

St. Landry Crime Stoppers needs help in locating three suspects south by St. Landry Sheriff’s deputies. David Wayne Doucet 65 of the 200 blockof Lakeland Road Port Barre is wanted in connection to an Oct. 23, 2017, shooting in the Port Barre area. Doucet also has numerous gun related felony charges.

Easter gunplay ends with wounded juvenile

A juvenile was wounded below his left knee after a teen twirled a .22-caliber pistol with his index finger on the porch of a residence in the 200 block of North 8th Street on Easter, according to a Eunice Police report. Tristen Romero, 17, 200 block of North 8th Street, Eunice.
