The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. April 16 Alexander Cole Olivier, 21, 2000 block of Hwy, 31, Arnaudville. Possession of schedule I CDS; possession of schedule II; illegal carrying of weapons; violation of personal watercraft.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. April 13 Raymond Celestine, 45, 5000 block of Chataignier St., Chataignier. Possession of Schedule II CDS, posssession of legend drug without prescription, possession of Schedule IV CDS and failure to signal.

Maurice man sentenced to 36 months in prison for fraudulently obtaining more than $1.2 million from Abbeville bank

U.S. Attorney David C. Joseph announced that a man from Maurice was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison for submitting false receipts in order to draw more than $1.2 million from a bank line of credit.

Last week there was a disturbing video circulating social media where a female was handling a firearm inside a car and accidently shot and killed a male subject. The negligent killing was caught on Facebook live and viewed by thousands.
