Four of the five softball teams in District 5-1A earned a spot in the Div. IV playoffs with Catholic High of Pointe Coupee closing the 2021 season as state runners-up.
It was a memorable year for St. Edmund athletics as every sport made the playoffs.
The school’s athletes were recognized Monday for their accomplishments in the annual award ceremony.
The Eunice Lady Bobcats celebrated a 22-6 overall record and co-District 4-4A championship under first-year head coach Trenon Trosclair.
The Lady Cats and North Vermilion shared the district title and dominated the All-District list.
BATON ROUGE – The sports year ended Thursday for several St. Edmund athletes at the Class 1-A state track meet.
Kieran Davis finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.52.
LAFAYETTE – It was a strong showing for St. Edmund in the Division IV boys’ competition in the LHSAA State Golf Championship as the Blue Jays finished as the state runners-up.
NEW IBERIA – St. Edmund qualified in eight events for the state track meet after strong performances at the LHSAA 1-A Region II competition held at New Iberia Senior High.

STONEWALL – The 2021 season ended in the regional round for Eunice High baseball, but the No. 15 Bobcats did not go away without a fight against No. 2 the Griffins.
