On the opening night of the season, it only made sense for the Eunice High Lady Cats and St. Ed’s Lady Jays to tangle to open the volleyball season on Tuesday night.

Alyson Habetz was noticeably overwhelmed as she spoke to a standing-room-only crowd Wednesday, Aug. 28,in Crowley. It was the second of a three-night “Meet & Greet” tour for Habetz and members of the Ragin’ Cajun softball team and staff. “It’s so awesome to be with my people,” Habetz said.

LSU Eunice Women’s Soccer flexed its muscle in the Lone Star State with a pair of runaway wins. The Bengals (3-1) produced a pair of shutouts to give LSUE three clean sheets already on the young season.

St. Ed’s didn’t look quite as sharp as it wanted to for as long as it wanted to against Catholic of Pointe Coupee in last Friday’s 13-12 loss in the opener of the Joe Nagata Memorial Jamboree.

Bobcats start slow but hit pay dirt

Make no mistake about it, the 2024 Eunice Bobcats are a work in progress. A promising work in progress, but one nonetheless. That was quite evident in the Bobcats’ 14-6 win over the North Vermilion Patriots last Thursday in jamboree action. It was a tale of two halves for the Bobcats offensively.
Eunice High School named its Homecoming Court. Seniors maids include, seated from left, Shiya Ceasar, Brooklyn Darbonne, Ava Daigle, Vivian Andrus and Tyja Cooper.
