Smithsonian donation to LSUE LeDoux Library

A Smithsonian Museum World War I poster exhibit which was on display downtown during Mardi Gras has been donated by the Downtown Merchants Association to the Ledoux Library on the campus of LSUE.

The meaning behind the shamrock

The word “shamrock” is derived from the Irish “seamróg,” which translates as “young clover.” Over the centuries, this diminutive plant has come to symbolize Ireland and many things Irish. The shamrock also is a popular symbol of St. Patrick’s Day.
