Tips to get children excited about exercise

Human beings need to engage in physical activity to stay healthy. But too many children are not getting the exercise they need. Only 50 percent of boys and less than 34 percent of girls between the ages of 12 and 15 are adequately fit, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

NAUW Eunice honors Single Parent of the Year

The NAUW Eunice Branch celebrates its 2025 Single Parent of the Year. The recipient and honoree is Jada Thomas of Eunice. Jada Thomas is a paraprofessional and a girl’s coach at Eunice Junior High School.

Denise Antoine chosen as NAUW Eunice Branch 2025 Woman of the Year

Denise Antoine, originally from Alabama, is the wife of Rev. Lloyd H. Antoine and the mother of six children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also a faithful and active member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, where her husband, the Rev. Lloyd Antoine, is the pastor.

Michael (Mike) and Gail McDaniel Clark have been married for 49 years. The couple married on November 14, 1975. The Clarks are parents of three children Brian Clark (Lindsay), the late David Clark, and Courtney Fruge (Blake) and grandparents of four grandchildren; Seth, Brenna, Noah and Hannah.
