St. Ed students at Convention at Jr. Beta Convention

St. Edmund High Jr. Beta members participated in the Jr. Beta State Convention at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette. They took part in the two-dimensional competition with their flag and showcased their service learning project, which featured a board on the Cookie Festival organized by Jr. Beta.

Bingo Bash at St. Edmund

St. Edmund kicked off their first Bingo Bash. Students in grades first through fifth who achieved all A’s for the first two nine-weeks enjoyed a fun afternoon of bingo in the Jeanmard Hall.

Every Lenten season St. Mathilda’s Church’s Council #92 Knights and Court #92 Ladies of St. Peter Claver Catholic Organization holds an Ash Wednesday fried fish dinner plate lunches.
Members of the Eunice Branch NAUW visited Ville Platte High School during their Black History Program and presented several boxes of books by Black authors to their library and a financial donation to be used for purchasing more books.

Council on Aging Mardi Gras Dance

The St. Landry Council on Aging held a Mardi Gras dance Monday at the Northwest Community Center. Adults 60 and over enjoyed dancing to music provided by J & The Zydeco Dog Pound.
The True Light Dancers under the leadership of Jermaine Tezeno and Youth Group Leaders Tamara Hebert, youth director; Yuranda Allison, assistant youth director; and the help of Laricia Poullard, youth council, had  the opportunity to perform at the MLK Program at Calvary Tabernacle Baptist Church, and the Black History programs at Greater True Baptist Church, Eunice Elementary, and Central Middle.

Mardi Gras parade at East

East Elementary held a PBIS Mardi Gras parade where students with an A in conduct were able to parade around the block and receive a bag of candy at the end of the route. They were then able to enjoy some extra time outside and enjoy their treats.
