Bulb & Blossom Club holds meeting

The Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden Club members met at the home of Marlow Veillon. Members planned their district VII meeting for October. The Louisiana Garden Club Federation officers and 11 garden clubs from District VII will meet here in Eunice, and expected will be 60 members.

CDA Proclamation signed

Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 21 as CDA Sunday in the city of Eunice. Court Eunice 208 represents church parishes of St. Anthony and St Thomas More. Court 208 has been active for 105 years performing Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.

Birth Announcements

Isaac Guidry Lyle and Megan Guidry of Iota announce the birth of their son, Isaac Paul Guidry, born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 26 weighing 7 pounds and 12.2 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Randy Miller and Myra Miller of Eunice. Paternal grandparents are Robert and Melissa Guidry of Iota.

Sheryl Cormier at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Sheryl Cormier & Cajun Sound. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.

St. Edmund High School celebrated homecoming

St. Edmund High School students celebrate homecoming this week with different dress days. Designated for Monday was Occupation wear; Tuesday was declared Duo Day; Animal Day was celebrated Wednesday, Traditional Blue & White Day for underclassmen and seniors dressed as kings and queens Thursday.

Jayce Brooks Courtney and Michael Brooks of Eunice announce the birth of their son, Jayce Elliot Brooks, born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 12 weighing 6 pounds and 8 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Amanda Myers and Marty Gaspard. Paternal grandparents are Christine Gotte and Thomas Brooks.
