Braisyn Guidry Kelsey Ashworth and Warren Guidry of Eunice announce the birth of their son, Braisyn Lane Guidry, born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 10 weighing 7 pounds and 10.4 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Kim Peloquin and Gerald Cunningham of Eunice.

Corn Maze set for Oct. 6

John Leger at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by John Alva Leger & The Pas Bon Playboys. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.

Students of the Week honored at Glendale

An experiment at Highland Elementary

Kindergarten students in Amy Myers’ class at Highland Elementary conducted an experiment entitled “Walking Water.” Students were able to observe how napkins absorb colored water and the water “walks” through the napkin into the next glass and makes new colors.
