Character Day at Eunice Elementary

Eunice Elementary held a Book Character Day recently. First-graders Derek Lecompte, left, dressed as a lawyer and Alexander Ramos dressed as a police officer. Students were allowed to dress as a character that they want to become as an adult.

Flag raising, Vets Day at Highland Elementary

Veterans Day and a flag raising ceremony was recently held at Highland Elementary. Left, David Crader, sergeant at arms for VFW Post 8971 and a custodian at the elementary school holds a retired flag after it was folded.

Employee of the Week at Central Middle

Valerie Hunt, a Central Middle School ELA fifth and sixth grade teacher, was named Employee of the Week for Oct. 30-Nov. 3 week. Hunt is a second year teacher at Central Middle and is a Lead Teacher for English Language Arts.

Students of the Month at East Elementary

Most Improved students at Central Middle

Several Central Middle School students were recognized by their teachers for exhibiting great improvement in social choices as well as academics. Students received McDonald’s gift certificates as their reward and hard work.

This week’s Student of the Week is Matthew Myers, a senior at Eunice High School. His parents are Stephanie Smith and Brandon Vidrine.

Ryan Simon & Acadien at Liberty

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Ryan Simon & Acadien.
Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m.

Aloisio, Frey exchange vows during evening ceremony

St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Andrea Michelle Aloisio of Lafayette and Jason Lawrence Frey of Iota in Holy Matrimony.
