Youth taught drug awareness, nature skills at camp

By Johnny Morgan, jmorgan@agcenter.lsu.edu CLINTON — Many people would think that 4-year-olds are too young for instruction on drug abuse. But getting information to them about the dangers of drugs was the goal of a recent camp in East Feliciana Parish.

Eunice schools schedule open house events

First day for Eunice public students is Aug. 9. St. Edmund students report for first day of school Aug. 8. Eunice High School will hold its fall registration for the 2018-2019 school year. At registration the school will require two proofs of residence.

Gelato is ice cream’s Italian cousin

My oldest daughter introduced me years ago to gelato and I loved it. I enjoyed the taste and texture of the dessert. I found it to be smoother and creamer than ice cream. The following, courtesy of Newspaper Metro, gives you several different distinctions of gelato.

Students register at Eunice High School

Eunice High School held registration Wednesday and Thursday for students returning to school. Students paid registration dues, filled out necessary paperwork, received class schedules, and paid parking fees. Emily Cormier, right, a senior, pays for her car registration tag.

Birth Announcements

Cannan Jones Tatelan Miller and Ernest Jones Jr. of Kinder announce the birth of their son, Cannan Lee Jones, born at Acadian Medical Center on July 18 weighing 8 pounds and 2.6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Chad Miller of Carencro and Courtney Anderson of Kinder.

A new painted facelift at Eunice Elementary

Eunice Elementary has a brand new look. Freshly colorful painted boards with different sayings were painted by teachers who volunteered their time, efforts and painting skills are portrayed at Eunice Elementary’s front entrance.
