AgCenter program helps seniors, children move more

Eunice High School announces its homecoming court senior maids. Eunice High School will celebrate Homecoming on Oct. 6 with a game against the Port Barre Red Devils. The Eunice High homecoming parade is set for Oct. 5 at 5 p.m.
Highland Elementary students participated and recognized International Literacy Day on Sept. 8. First graders in Caroline Thomas’ class studied the different world countries.
Viola Bellard, a computer lab facilitator at Highland Elementary, was chosen to receive the Dollar General literacy grant. The $2,500 grant was written by Bellard and the funds will be used to help promote literacy at the school.

This week’s Student of the Week is Lindsey Gaspard, a sixth grader at Central Middle School. Her parents are Robert and Kim Gaspard.
Studio P3, located at 121 S. 4th St., received the marker of Business Yard of the Month by the Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden Club. Volunteer Fran Guillory presented the sign. The business features flax lillies, dwarf azaleas and crepe myrtles.
The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Don Fontenot & Friends of Louisiana. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m.
The annual St. Thomas More Catholic Church Fall Festival is set for Sept. 22 to 24.
The carnival fair ride armbands continues, selling for $40, and will end at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 21.
