Jay Cormier at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Jay Cormier & Cajun Born. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.

Attention all graduating seniors

Jumee Thomas Latoria Thomas of Eunice announces the birth of her daughter, Jumee Renee Thomas, born at Acadian Medical Center on March 14 weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Elaine Weston and Aubery Thomas of Eunice. Karter Gallow Jamiee Sampson and Sidney Gallow Jr.

Teacher of the Year at Glendale Elementary

Katie Richard, right, is Glendale Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. Richard is a pre-k teacher for the past three years on campus. She is credited with bringing the Belly Buddies program to the school which provides healthy snacks to eligible students.

Top readers honored at East Elementary

East students participate in Pennies for Patients

Students at East Elementary recently participated in the Lukemia and Lymphona Society’s Pennies for Patients. Students raised over $2,200 for local patients. The class that raised the most money was second graders in Carol Aguillard’s class.
