Awards ceremony held for St. Edmund Middle School students

St. Edmund School held its Middle School awards ceremony recently. St. Edmund students were awarded various awards, honors and recognition. Each year, a student is chosen to receive the Woodman of the World Award.

Swim the oceans safely

Swimming is one of the more enjoyable ways to cool off from the hot summer sun. People flock to pools and coastal areas teach year, and while it is great to have enjoy such breaks, safety should always be foremost on swimmers’ minds.

St. Edmund graduates named for distinguished awards

St. Edmund High graduates were honored and recognized for distinguished awards during a graduation ceremony and Mass on May 18. There was recognition of St. Edmund High Summa Cum Laude Honor graduates/Co-Valedictorians Gracie Cormier and Copeland Miller.

Interesting facts related to Memorial Day

Memorial Day is celebrated annually on the last Monday of May across the United States. The proximity of Memorial Day to the summer solstice has led many to view the weekend preceding the holiday as the unofficial kickoff to summer.
Highland Early Learning Center held its Pre-k graduation Tuesday at LSUE. There was a morning ceremony as well as an afternoon program. Above are the pre-k graduates from the morning session. These pre-k graduates are students from Johnette Dupre and Renee Atchison’s class, Karen Fruge and Delaina Reed’s class, Tabita Niles and Henrietta Dupre’s class, and Elizabeth Romero and Mikel Guillory’s class. There was a Vision and Mission Statement, the Three B’s and The 8 Habits, and a song, “The World is a Rainbow,” on the program at Highland Early Learning Center’s Pre-K Graduation ceremonies held Tuesday inside LSUE’s Health & Science Auditorium.
