NAUW Thanksgiving dinners

The Bulb and Blossom Garden Club held its November meeting at the First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The program for the month was “Floral Designs-Wreaths for the Holidays” and  was presented by member Erin Jones. Jones explained the basics of creating a wreath, as well as general rules of thumb when considering items to use to enhance the wreath, like pinecones or dried flowers, the placement of bows on the wreath and colors. Students in grades 6-12th received an interactive educational presentation on fentanyl, a drug which is becoming more widespread and problematic in the adolescent population. The presentation also covered information on opioids in general and on the dangers of vaping.

NAUW announces ‘Adopted School’

Members of the Eunice Branch of NAUW have chosen the Eunice High School as their “Adopted School” this year. During National American Education Week, Shelsy Williams, branch president; presented a monetary donation and 10 books written by Black authors to Eunice High School Principal Irma Trosclair.
Beta Sigma Phi Sorority gave two boxes of a variety of food items and a  Super 1 Foods gift card to the Eunice Food Bank. A drawing for the gift card was held and name pulled and the winner is Deanna  Poullard.
