PPHS’s Perrodins named 2018 Tournoi Pageant Queens

New royalty was crowned Saturday at the Louisiana Tournoi Pageant. The newly crowned queens were Miss Tournoi Queen Taylor Grace Perrodin and Teen Tournoi Queen Riana Perrodin.
Taylor Grace Perrodin is the 16-year-old daughter of Brandy and Shannon Joubert and Rory Perrodin. She is the granddaughter of Mitchell and Addie Fontenot and Junior and Sharline Perrodin and is the great-granddaughter of Oswald Fontenot and Bernadine Sonnier.

U.S. representative to hold town hall
U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson, R-Benton, will host a town hall from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sunset Community Center, 108 Leo Richard Lane, Sunset.
Security will be present at the town hall event. No signs or obstructions will be permitted inside.
Johnson is serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He sits on the House Judiciary Committee as well as the Committee on Natural Resources. He was elected in December 2016.

Highland sponsors school supply drive
Highland Elementary will have a school supply drive for Eunice Elementary’s students and teachers.
Anyone wishing to donate supplies can do at a drop off, which is in a designated container located near the school’s front office.

Keep Eunice Beautiful needs volunteers
Keep Eunice Beautiful is looking for four volunteers to take part in its annual Community Litter Index. Volunteers will be taken to 50 neighborhoods over a two day period (8:30 to 11:30 am, Oct. 1 and 2). Volunteers will be trained to score each area as to the level of litter seen. The information will be given to the city and code enforcement officer. For more information, call Donna Baltakis at 337-457-1510.

Bulb & Blossom meeting set Monday
The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the home of Marlow Veillon. Plans will be finalized for the upcoming district meeting which will be hosted by Eunice.
All members are asked to attend. Membership is open to anyone interested.
