DOTD announces start of emergency cross drain replacement project

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that beginning Monday, April 13, construction has begun on a $260,000 emergency cross drain replacement at the intersection of LA 13 and W. Ash Ave.

Acadia Parish teenager killed in ATV crash

Church Point – On April 11, shortly after 8 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 95 near Wikoff Cove Drive in Acadia Parish. The crash claimed the life of 17-year-old Hayden Castille of Branch.

The Eunice Police Department is investigating several shots fired complaints that occurred during the last several days. On Thursday, April 2, at about 8:50 p.m., the EPD responded to a shooting complaint in the area of Fuselier and Acadia Streets.
On April 2, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 13 near Mariaun Road in Evangeline Parish.  The crash claimed the life of 68-year-old Timmy Devillier of Mamou and 25-year-old Andrew Godeaux of Mamou.
