LAFAYETTE PARISH — In an update on Saturday’s officer-involved shooting in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana State Police Troop I confirmed the escaped inmate out of St. Landry Parish, Michael Vavasseur, was killed in the incident.

St. Francis Shrimp Poboy fundraiser set
St. Franics School cheerleaders will hold a shrimp poboy sale fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 1 with pickup in front of St. Francis School.
Tickets are $10 donation and will include a shrimp poboy and a bag of chips.

Inmate escapes from Behavioral Health Center during transport
