Swamp Pop Reunion XVIII scheduled for Feb. 12

Swamp Pop Reunion XVIII will be held Feb. 12 at the Civic Center in Ville Platte the “Swamp Pop Capital of the World!” Ticket sales for this 18th annual event will begin Wednesday. Tickets will be sold on-line through Event Brite.com. Look for the Swamp Pop Reunion event on the Event Brite.

2023 really was a hot year

This was the year when Louisiana did not experience a hurricane and in most years that would be significant weather news. Or, the weather news might be about a freak snowstorm, freeze or devastating flood. But in 2023 the awful, unrelenting, yard-withering heat in August is a top story for the year.

Ceremony set in canonization process for ‘Little Cajun Saint’ Charlene Richard

Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette will lead a ceremony in January to officially close the diocesan phase of the canonization process for Charlene Marie Richard, known as the Little Cajun Saint, the Diocese of Lafayette announced. The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan.

Eunice Symphony Orchestra concert set The Eunice Symphony Orchestra present “Broadway on the Bayou,” an evening of music from Broadway musicals. The concert will be at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Eunice High auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and children ages 6 and under are admitted free of charge.
