EMTL spring registration set The Eunice Men’s Tennis League (EMTL) will begin play for the Spring League on Feb. 26. Registration is from Jan. 16 through Feb. 19 at the law office of Terry Hoychick, 141 South 6th, Eunice. Dues are $30. A captain’s meeting will be held Monday, Feb.

St. Landry Parish sales tax collections increased 5.8% in 2023

St Landry Parish sales tax collections rose 5.8% in 2023 compared to 2022 collections, according to statistics released by the St. Landry Parish School Board tax division. Collections in 2023 totaled $95,410,949, up $5,268,797 over the 2022 collections of $90,142,152.

LSU Eunice to reopen Wednesday

LSU Eunice will reopen on Wednesday for normal business hours and in-person instruction. The campus was closed on Tuesday due to extreme cold throughout south Louisiana. LSUE officials will continue to monitor the local forecasts. Any necessary updates will be posted on www.lsue.

Word Ministries in Eunice, located at 1960 West Laurel, will open its doors to provide shelter for those affected by the severe cold weather. The shelter will be available from 3 p.m. today, Monday, until Wednesday at 5 p.m.
