Second Harvest plans mobile fresh food market in Eunice
Second Harvest plans to have a mobile fresh food market in Eunice from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center every second Tuesday of the month.

Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten season and the Rev. Clinton Sensat of St. Thomas More Catholic Church performed a 6:30 a.m. Mass Wednesday. Ash Wednesday begins the 40-day season of fast and penance.

Eunice Mardi Gras ‘picture perfect’

A blue sky with afternoon temperatures in the 70s blessed the Eunice Mardi Gras.
“Today is just picture perfect. Look at the people having fun,” said Mayor Scott Fontenot as he looked over the crowd on 2nd Street at about 2 p.m.

The weekly Pro-Life Rosary will begin at 11:30 a.m. inside Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church prior to noon mass.
The public is invited and welcomed.

Taster’s Choice is huge boost for health center

The 11th annual Eunice Community Health Center’s Taster’s Choice raised $35,000, according to Yancy Fontenot, the center’s executive director.
The crowd was most likely the biggest crowd ever for the event.

Student to teacher ratio may increase

The St. Landry Parish School Board will be called upon to decide on increasing the student to teacher ratio district wide at its meeting Thursday.
