An annual audit of St. Landry Parish Government found its finances healthy and findings that involved budget variances. Steve Moosa, CPA of Darnall, Sikes & Frederick, delivered the audit report at a meeting of the St. Landry Parish Council’s Administrative-Finance Committee on Wednesday.

There are still a few of us of a certain vintage who remember the rough-and-ready days of Evangeline League baseball, where rivalries were so hot that at most games you were more likely to see a big brawl than a double play.

Fireworks tonight

The Eunice Fourth of July fireworks show is scheduled at 9 p.m. today at the Eunice Recreation Complex on Sittig Road. The show is sponsored by the City of Eunice.
