Charlene Richard Mass set Monday The Charlene Richard Annual Death Anniversary Mass is set for Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard. The rosary is set for 5:30 p.m. and the Mass will follow at 6 p.m. After Mass all are invited to the church hall for refreshments and fellowship.

La. 358 to close for bridge repairs

La. 358 (Brigman Highway) between Scanlan Lane and Pitreville Highway will be closed at 9 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Aug. 14, weather permitting. The detour route will not be posted but will consist of La. 1108, La. 95 and La. 35. The closure is necessary to allow crews to perform bridge repairs.

Fields urges universal Head Start at town hall

School Board budget cuts likely

St. Landry Parish Superintendent Milton Batiste III stressed that the student count in the coming weeks is crucial to the district financial health. The initial budget presented to a Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday indicated the budget faces trimming, not in the thousands, but $7.

Soccer registration is now open The Eunice Rec Soccer Program is a Co-Ed program, open to youth 4-14 years of age. Participant registration is $45. Registration continues until Aug. 22. Season dates are from Sept. 15 through Oct.

St. Landry Parish marriage licenses
