Eunice Players’ presents ‘Grease’ The Eunice Players’ Theatre is having long practice nights for a production coming up, “Grease.” “Grease” is directed by Jeanne Eddins, with musical direction by Jimmy Broussard, and choreography by Angelle Driggs. Play performances are set for 7 p.m.

Cleco employees volunteer at Eunice Community Garden

Eight Cleco volunteers from the Acadiana region were at the Eunice Community Garden Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. The event was part of Cleco’s Done In A Day program where Cleco volunteers work on a project in the company’s service territory that can be completed in a few hours.

Diocese honors Eunice woman

The Catholic Diocese of Lafayette announced its Champion of Life Award recipients includes Sharon Fontenot, of Eunice. Fontenot is a dedicated Catholic and lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Eunice.

What’s up with FEMA?

As a tropical weather system was approaching on Wednesday, St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard updated the Parish Council on possible changes to FEMA. President Donald Trump has proposed changes up to eliminating the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Bellard asks Council to OK $4.6M line of credit

St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard gained approval from the Parish Council to seek a $4.6 million line of credit. The line of credit is to pay off last year’s loan and supplement the operating expenses this year, explained bond attorney Andrew Jarreau, of Foley & Judell, of Baton Rouge.
