Fields urges universal Head Start at town hall

School Board budget cuts likely

St. Landry Parish Superintendent Milton Batiste III stressed that the student count in the coming weeks is crucial to the district financial health. The initial budget presented to a Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday indicated the budget faces trimming, not in the thousands, but $7.

Soccer registration is now open The Eunice Rec Soccer Program is a Co-Ed program, open to youth 4-14 years of age. Participant registration is $45. Registration continues until Aug. 22. Season dates are from Sept. 15 through Oct.

St. Landry Parish marriage licenses

The following people obtained marriage licenses from the St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court Office. Wednesday, July 23 Victor Layne Landreneau and Nicky Marie Hardacre, both of Clinton, Mississippi. Thursday, July 24 Rylan Michael Hebert of Lafayette and McKenzie Marie Garrison, of Broussard.

Congressman Cleo Fields will hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Eunice City Hall, 300 S. 2nd St. The meeting is designed to give constituents a direct opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas, an announcement stated. Another town hall with the 6th District U.S.
