Soccer registration is now open The Eunice Rec Soccer Program is a Co-Ed program, open to youth 4-14 years of age. Participant registration is $45. Registration opened July 22 and will continue through Aug. 22. Season dates are from Sept. 15 through Oct.

Parish’s new school points to the future

St. Landry Parish’s new public school, Helix A.I. And Medical Academy in Opelousas, will open with at least 400 students in August, according to Preston Castille, president and CEO at Helix Community Schools.

Eunice Players’ presents ‘Grease’ The Eunice Players’ Theatre is having long practice nights for a production coming up, “Grease.” “Grease” is directed by Jeanne Eddins, with musical direction by Jimmy Broussard, and choreography by Angelle Driggs. Play performances are set for 7 p.m.

Cleco employees volunteer at Eunice Community Garden

Eight Cleco volunteers from the Acadiana region were at the Eunice Community Garden Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. The event was part of Cleco’s Done In A Day program where Cleco volunteers work on a project in the company’s service territory that can be completed in a few hours.
